Club Constitution

  Part One: The Club
  1. Name:
The name of the Club shall be "Illistrin Football Club", hereinafter referred to as "The Club".
  2. Objects/Aims:
The objects/aims of the Club shall be:

(a) The general improvement of the school boys/girls through the medium of soccer.
(b) The raising of the standard of soccer and the development of interest of it throughout the area.
(c) Ensure the participation of all (as per Equality Legislation and other relevant legislation) in the Club.
  3. Membership:
Membership is open to adult persons (+18) upon payment of the fee as set out by the Annual General Meeting of the Club.
   
  Part two: The Committee
  4. All committee members will be elected at the AGM (up to a maximum of 20).
An Honorary President will be elected at the AGM.
  The entire administration and management of the Club shall be the responsibility of the committee.
The officers of the committee will include: Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson, Secretary, Assistant Secretary, Treasurer, Assistant Treasurer, PRO, Children’s Officer, Coaching Co-ordinator and Medical Officer.
A Development Committee will be set up to develop a new pitch. This Committee are empowered to raise or borrow money to finance the development of a new pitch. That in the event of the Development Committee borrowing money, then the Club appoint nine trustees to do so, and remain so until the loan is repaid, except in the event of death. The Committee has the right to appoint a replacement trustee on the death of an existing trustee.
   
  Part three: Procedures
  5. Notice of Meetings
(a) General Meetings: Notice shall be issued at least ten (10) clear days in advance.
(b) Annual General Meetings: Notice shall be issued at least fourteen (14) clear days in advance. Notice shall be given in writing to all members.
(c) Extra-ordinary Meetings: Notice shall be issued at least two (2) clear days in advance, where possible.
(d) Notice shall be given in writing to all members.
6. Notice of Business
(a) Annual General Meeting: Members wishing to move any resolution at the Annual General Meeting must return the resolution to the Club in writing, at least five (5) clear days before the meeting.
(b) Non written motions will not be admitted at the AGM unless approved by the majority of members present.
7. Voting: Every full member present at the AGM or EGM shall be entitled to one vote upon every voting matter. Only full members shall be allowed to vote. Proxy votes in writing shall be accepted at any meetings.
8. Quorum:
The Quorum at all general meetings shall be 5 of the full members.
9. Registrations: The annual registration shall be set at the Annual General Meeting of the Club. The registration fee will be for use by the club only. In addition a registration fee is to be collected for each player for the Letterkenny and District Schoolboys/girls League.
10. Expulsion of Members: The Committee shall have the power to expel any member from the Club for misconduct or of a nature opposed to the objects of the Club.
11. Regulations: The general Meeting shall have the power to make such rules and regulations pertaining to the conduct of the members of the Club, as it shall from time to time deem necessary.
12. Selection of Managers: Manager will be selected through an application process. Where there is one nominee, the manager will be appointed by the Committee. In the event of more than one nominee, an independent person will be appointed by committee to recommend a nominee.
13. Child Protection: The Club will fully comply with the relevant Child Protection legislation in place.
14. Racism: The Club rejects all forms of racism. It is committed to the elimination of racial discrimination- including direct and indirect racism, racial vilification and harassment.
15. Coaching Strategy: The Club will adopt a structured coaching strategy to include the following approach:
(a) Play to Learn (under 8s and 10s)
(b) Learn to Compete (under 10s)
(c) Compete to win (under 10s up)
   
  Part Four: Powers of the Club
12. Censure Motions: The Club in an EGM or AGM shall have the power to pass a resolution censuring the Committee.
13. No Confidence Motions: The Club in a EGM or AGM shall have the power to pass a resolution of "No Confidence" in the Committee or individual committee members.
14. Committee Decisions: The Club in EGM or AGM shall have the power to overrule any decision of the Committee.
   
  Part Five: Financial Provisions
15. Liability: The members of the Club will not be liable for debts contracted by Committee members or by any persons purporting to act on behalf of the Club, unless such person has the authorization of the Committee on contracting such debt and this to take place at an EGM or AGM.
   
  Part Six: Miscellaneous Provisions
16. Affiliation: The Club is an affiliated Club to the Letterkenny and District
Schoolboys and Girls League. Anything in this Constitution, any by-law or resolution of the Club or its office bearers which is inconsistent with the Leagues' Constitution or any amendment to a special rule therefore shall be void and of no effect insofar as it is inconsistent.
17. No player under 15 will be considered for transfer unless an approach is made directly by the manager of that club to the committee of IFC.
18. Amendments: At an EGM or AGM, these rules may be added to replaced or amended by resolution at any general meeting, if the amendment entails the annulment of a pre-existing rule, the amendment must be passed by two thirds (2/3) of the full members present, otherwise the majority shall be one half (1/2).
